What Is FUE Hair Transplant?

FUE is a technique where grafts are taken one by one from the donor area with a fine tool, then placed in empty areas under local anesthesia. It needs no strip of skin to be removed and leaves tiny dot scars that hair usually covers. The full result takes about a year or more.

Does FUE leave a mark?

Each extraction leaves a very small dot scar. It is usually not visible at normal hair length, but it may show when the head is shaved completely. So the accurate description is "a limited mark that is usually not obvious", not "no mark at all".

What is the difference between FUE and DHI?

The main difference is in the planting stage. In FUE the channels are opened first and then the grafts are placed, while in DHI both steps happen together with a special pen.

Questions about FUE

Is FUE painful?

It is done under local anesthesia, and what patients usually feel most is the sting of the anesthetic needles at the start. Mild discomfort may follow the procedure, and the team explains how to manage it.

Is the transplanted hair permanent?

Hair taken from the safe donor area is usually more resistant to loss, but the native hair around it may keep thinning over time, which may call for a follow-up plan.
